Hit formula

Koel Mallick and Jeet have joined hands — after the success of Dui Prithibi last year — for a love story to be directed by Ravi Kinnagi. The untitled film is a joint venture between Shree Venkatesh Films and Jeet’s Grassroot Entertainment, for which Jeet Gannguli will score the music.

“This is not the teenage kind of love story. It’s serious and emotional.... I had worked with Jeet and Koel six years ago in Juddha. It’s fun working with them,” says Kinnagi.

“My last film with Raviji (Kinnagi) was Premer Kahini (2008). I am very excited to be working with him again and, of course, with Jeet with whom I have had the maximum number of hits. But this is going to be very different from all the love stories that I have done so far. My character comes from a very conservative family. I play a computer trainer and Jeet is a trainee under me,” says Koel.

The last time the hit trio — Kinnagi, Jeet and Koel — came together was for Juddha, which also starred Mithun Chakraborty. “It’s great to be back with the team. I am very comfortable with Raviji and there’s a lot to learn from him. And it’s always special working with Jeet. He is an extremely committed, professional and cooperative co-star,” smiles Koel.

The film rolls on the floors today.
