Rai shares lead with Jonathan

Kajang: Himmat Rai moved closer to his maiden professional golf title outside India, carding a five-under 67 to share the lead after the third round of the PGM-ADT-CCM Impian Classic here Saturday. Rai, who birdied all the par-fives, shares the lead with in-form American rookie Jonathan Moore.

Atwal tied 57th

Charlotte: Arjun Atwal carded a modest one-under 71, but managed to make the cut at tied 57th after the second round of the Wells Fargo Golf Championships here. Atwal struck three birdies and a double bogey in his second round card.

Jeev slips

Barcelona: Jeev Milkha Singh had a disastrous round to slip from overnight tied 10th to the tied 32nd position at the Open de Espana on Saturday.

Calcutta: The Indian men’s recurve team entered the final of the World Cup (stage I) archery in Porec by. Ranked fifth, India, well served by Rahul Banerjee, Jayanta Talukdar and Tarundeep Rai, beat Korea by 219-217 points in the semi-finals.

Pak meeting

Karachi: Shahid Afridi will meet PCB chairman Ijaz Butt on his return from the West Indies to outline the problems he is facing while working with head coach Waqar Younis. The differences between the two have spilled out into the open and reports say their relationship got so bad that Afridi even refused to play the last two matches in West Indies.
