Condition critical
Dibrugarh, April 29:
The condition of Sanju Chakravarty and Mrigaya Dey, who were injured in the Makum shooting incident yesterday, continued to be critical today.
Man arrested
Moran:
Police on Friday arrested Pongnao Konyak, a resident of Tizit in Mon district of Nagaland, from Moran in Dibrugarh district. One pistol has been recovered from his possession. Investigation is on.
AICC meeting
Shillong:
The AICC has not yet given audience to rebel Congress legislators of Meghalaya, camping in Delhi to press for a leadership change in the state.
Bodies found
Guwahati:
The body of two unidentified youths were found at Singimari under Sipajhar police station in Darrang district on Friday. The bodies were spotted by the locals who informed police.
Train derails
Guwahati:
The engine and six wagons of a goods train, on its way from Naharpara to Lakhimpur, derailed around 12.50pm on Friday between Halem and Gohpur stations. No casualty was reported.
Arrested
Shillong: Five persons were arrested from Dobu area in East Garo Hills on Thursday night, as they were collecting money from coal-laden trucks at a transport weigh bridge in the area.
