Bhubaneswar, April 23: The state government has given its consent for a CBI inquiry into the alleged multi-crore irregularities in the implementation of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.
Chief secretary Bijay Patnaik said: “We have given consent for a CBI probe into the alleged irregularities under the MNREGA. Another official format as per their requirement will be submitted to the Centre within one or two days.”
Panchayati raj minister Prafulla Samal said: “We are ready for a CBI probe. However, we have done nothing wrong.” The Union ministry of rural development has asked the government to give its consent on a specific format before a notification was issued in this regard.
