Calcutta, April 17: Subhranshu Roy, a Trinamul Congress candidate and son of Union minister Mukul Roy, was arrested today on the charge of assaulting an Election Commission team that wanted to erase unauthorised poll graffiti.

Subhranshu, who is contesting from Bijpur, was arrested when he was leaving the venue of a meeting at Naihati that was addressed by Mamata Banerjee. ( )
