Ranchi, April 13: CBI joint director Javed Ahmed today asked the local branch of the agency to expedite investigations into the alleged nexus between Ranchi Regional Development Authority (RRDA) officials and builders because of which faulty building plans were approved in the capital over the years.
Ahmed held a meeting with senior CBI officers in the state and asked them to look into the matter seriously and detect irregularities in construction of buildings in the capital.
A case was registered in this connection on March 30 on the directives of the high court. Inspector T. Vardhan was appointed investigating officer. The CBI has to submit a preliminary report in the high court on April 19.
After the investigating officer’s appointment, RRDA vice-chairman K.K. Soan appointed Manaur Alam as nodal officer to assist the CBI team. Eleven other RRDA officials were deputed to assist Alam.
A couple of days ago, Soan wrote to the registration department to provide a list of registered builders to be made available to the CBI.
