Bagan take a stand

Mohun Bagan have decided not to play in the Salt Lake Stadium next season if the artificial turf is not removed. “We have told the IFA secretary (Utpal Ganguli) that the stadium should have the natural grass back and if it doesn’t happen we won’t play at Salt Lake. It may take six months but for the safety of the footballers it’s worth the wait, club secretary Anjan Mitra said on Friday.

Calcutta Port Trust defeated Calcutta Electric Supply Corporation (CESC) 3-0 in a 1 st Division Group A match of the BHA League, on Friday. Vikash Kumar, Sukhraj Singh and Robut Dodray scored for the winners. In another match BSF, North Bengal, defeated ERSA 2-1. Uday Bera scored a brace for the winners, while Ashish Singh netted for ERSA.
