Plotline: The eldest (Chiranjit) in a family of three brothers puts in all his savings to build a house for all. As his financial condition weakens, the rest of the family distances itself from him.

Directorspeak: “It’s a family drama about values, betrayal and forgiving,” says Chaudhuri.

PRIVATE PRACTICE

Starring: Anshuman, Pasha, Aishwarya, Ratri, Ramaprasad Banik

Directed by: Panna Hossain

Plotline: A medical student runs away from home to escape his impending marriage. He meets a painter, who’s also on the run, and the two swap identities.

Directorspeak: “It’s a comedy film with a straightforward narrative and great performances,” says Hossain.

CHOLTE CHOLTE

Starring: Subham Singh, Dulofar Khan, Ranjit, Navin Nishchol

Directed by: Subhash Chatterjee

Plotline: Raima (Dulofar) returns to India from abroad and goes trekking to Kumaon. Struck by the beauty of the mountains, she decides to stay back in the lap of nature.

Directorspeak: “The film deals with the experience of trekking. It will touch a chord in nature lovers,” says Chatterjee.
