Jet fuel price hiked
New Delhi, April 1: State-owned oil firms today increased jet fuel prices by 1.4 per cent. However, airlines are unlikely to pass on the hike to the travellers soon. Aviation industry sources said both private and state-owned carriers would take a call soon. This will further burden Air India, which owes over Rs 2,400 crore in jet fuel dues. The price of jet fuel in Calcutta has been increased by Rs 949.80 per kilolitre to Rs 67,151.98.
Trade gap falls
New Delhi, April 1: The country’s trade deficit declined to $97.06 billion during April-February of 2010-11 from $100.24 billion in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal as merchandise exports picked up faster than imports.

New York, April 1: Nasdaq and InterContinentalExchange today came up with a $11.3-billion cash-and-stock offer for NYSE Euronext, much higher than the bid made by Germany’s Deutsche Boerse AG.
