Guwahati, March 29:
The department of drinking water supply and sanitation under the ministry of rural development on Tuesday released Rs 1.10 crore as aid for three districts in Arunachal Pradesh under total sanitation campaign during the financial year 2010-11.
Tinsukia deputy commissioner S.S. Meenakshi Sundaram imposed Section 144 CrPC, prohibiting stock, sale, distribution, purchasing and transport of artificially coloured or polished food substances in the district. All stock of such adulterated commodities will be seized and sealed immediately.
The All Assam Water Resource Contractors Association on Tuesday said repair of 42 embankments would not complete before the monsoons because of delay in releasing funds by the state finance department.
Admission forms for swimming at the newly constructed swimming pool of the Jorhat Swimming Society will be given from April 1. The coaching of the new batch will commence from May 1.
