Umar wants to chat with hero Sachin

Chandigarh: The in-form Umar Akmal has three goals: To help Pakistan beat India in the World Cup semi-final, to take home three MoM awards and to have a one-on-one with Sachin Tendulkar.

“Wednesday’s match is like the final... I hope I can continue the good work... I’ve already got two MoM awards and it would be great to get a third, either in the semi-final or in the final... I’d also love to have a few words with Sachin,” Umar told The Telegraph, at the Taj, on Monday evening.

One of the three Akmal brothers to have played for Pakistan (others being Kamran and Adnan), Umar added: “Sachin is one of my heroes... I’m amazed at the way he bats... Hairani hoti hai ki kaise woh sab karte hain...

Umar is Pakistan’s highest run-getter (211) in this World Cup, his first, and his MoM awards came against Kenya and Australia.

Clearly, Umar is set for bigger things.
