OC arrest warrant

The Alipore court on Tuesday issued an arrest warrant against the OC of Lake police station, Parthasarathi Mukherjee, and sub-inspector, Manishankar Majumder. On Saturday, officers of Lake police station had arrested two advocates, Manojit Dasgupta and Subhrojit Roy Chowdhury, for allegedly assaulting the officers. Thereafter, several advocates filed petitions complaining against the officers’ alleged misbehaviour. The court issued the warrant when the duo did not appear in court as directed.

Portions of an under-construction building on Behala’s SN Roy Road, which mayor Sovan Chatterjee was visiting following reports of it being tilted, crumbled in front of him on Tuesday. No one was injured.

CMC expenses

The CMC board passed a Rs 1,128-crore expenditure proposal on vote-on-account on Tuesday to meet the board’s expenses for four months, from April 1 to July 31.
