Imphal: The 64th Adventure Course-cum- 27th Rock Climbing Course conducted by the Manipur Mountaineering and Trekking Association and National Adventure Foundation, Manipur chapter, got under way at MMI Institute at Lamdan in Churachandpur district.

Police hockey

Guwahati: Home team BSF, Guwahati, on Monday defeated Railway Protection Force 16-0 to enter the quarter-finals of the 59th All-India Police Hockey Championship at the M. Tayebulla Hockey Stadium. Punjab Police beat Indo-Tibetan Border Police 2-1, Haryana Police blanked Orissa Police 2-0, CISF edged past West Bengal Police 1-0 and CRPF tamed Madhya Pradesh Police 9-1 to book quarter-final berths from their groups. In another match, Uttar Pradesh Police overcame Karnataka Police 4-3.

Enrolment

Guwahati: The Board of Sports of Assam will organise a swimming training session for this year at the B.P. Chaliha swimming pool here and table tennis and badminton at the Abita Indoor Stadium and Kanaklata Indoor Stadium here respectively for the 2011-12 season from the first week of April. The enrolment forms for the coaching academies will be issued from Tuesday.
