March 10 at Calcutta School of Music; 4pm: Calcutta Classical Guitar Society, in association with Calcutta School of Music and Bhattacharya School of Universal Music, presents launch of Avtaar — a Meeting of Celestial Strings, a Live in Concert series where 14 leading musicians from India and abroad are collaborating for a week, creating new compositions based on ragas and Western classical music, to be premiered in three concerts. Grammy nominee Pandit Debashish Bhattacharya, Johannes Möller, Nutavut Ratanakarn, Matthias Muller, Biplaw Singh, Subhashish Bhattacharya, Mike McCormick and Charu Hariharan, amongst others, will grace the occasion.
