Two boys lynched

Raiganj, March 1: Two teenagers were beaten to death near Subhasganj market last night for snatching money from a shopkeeper and slashing his throat.

The deceased have been identified as Tapas Paswan, 16, and Santosh Paswan, 17. Three boys allegedly mugged Samar Kumar Das and fled with his cellphone and Rs 2,000 when he was returning home at night. Hearing his screams, the local people reached the spot and started a search for the boys. Two boys were picked up from a field and beaten to death. The third boy was picked up from his house and handed over to police this morning.


Film show

Siliguri: The Siliguri Cine Society and International Film Festival Committee, in association with state information and cultural affairs department, will organise a retrospective of Mrinal Sen’s films here at Dinabandhu Mancha from March 4 to 7.


Train timings

Siliguri: The Northeast Frontier Railway said on Tuesday that because of the late arrival of the corresponding train, the 12346 Guwahati-Howrah Saraighat Express, which was scheduled to leave Guwahati at 12.45pm on Wednesday, had been rescheduled for 4.15pm the same day.
