Santiniketan, Feb. 27: A Visva-Bharati student, who had been threatened with murder, disappeared for two hours yesterday evening after telling hostel authorities that she would be back in 10 minutes.
Hostel authorities informed police who interrogated the girl, a resident of Delhi, after she had come back.
We found out that the girl was also being threatened by her former boyfriend in Delhi. The threats received by the Kala Bhavan vice- principal are from the same mobile number, said a police officer.
Birbhum superintendent of police Nishad Pervez said: We suspect that the youth is threatening her as a result of their break-up.
A youth had called up the vice-principal of Kala Bhavan on February 22 and 23 and threatened to kill the student if action was not taken against her for being involved in shady activities.
She took so much time in returning to the hostel because she was meeting a local youth, Pervez said.
We will interrogate the youth, too. She told us her former boyfriend watched over her through someone in Santiniketan, said a police officer.
