Calcutta, Feb. 11: The Congress high command today appointed former state Youth Congress chief Amitava Chakraborty as PCC general secretary, ignoring Bengal unit chief Manas Bhuniya’s opposition. K. Keshava Rao, the Congress’s minder for Bengal, sent a letter to Chakraborty confirming his appointment.
