Tremor felt in Purnea
Patna:
Panic gripped Purnea residents after a mild tremor was felt on Friday evening. hough Patna meteorological office had no information about the tremor, the state disaster management department confirmed it and said they were prepared for any eventuality.
Kids get bail
Gopalganj:
Four children — Suman (6), Pintoo (8), Sunder (10) and Savitri (12) — were presented in court in the district headquarters on Friday in connection with a case of throwing acid. The children were granted bail in the case.
Rescue
Patna:
Piyush (5), son of rural engineering organisation contractor, Deepak Kumar, who was kidnapped from Biharsharif in Nalanda, was rescued from Bakhtiarpur in Patna rural on Friday.
Varsity land
Patna:
The state government on Friday formally handed over 446 acres of land to the first vice-chancellor of Nalanda International University, Gopa Sabharwal, at a meeting chaired by chief minister Nitish Kumar.
Hybrid paddy
Patna:
The state department of agriculture has made a plan in order to promote farming of hybrid paddy to increase production. At a meeting, on Friday agriculture production commissioner Ashok Kumar Sinha said the government plans to increase the production to 29 quintals.
Court prod
Patna:
The high court on Friday observed that the vigilance department should be disbanded as it was the fountain of corruption. A bench of Justice Ajay Kumar Tripathi had directed the inspector general (vigilance) and Bihar State Housing Board managing director to appear before it on Friday in connection with the ongoing housing board lapses.
