10-year term for rapist

Patna: Fast track court-I, Patna, Judge Mohammad Jafar Imam Malick on Thursday sentenced Satya Prakash Nirala, 35, a resident of Sadhnapuri under police station Gardanibag in Patna to 10-years of rigorous imprisonment. iralawas was foudn guilty of raping a 42-year-old woman.

Theft

Chhapra: Four cases of theft were reported in the district on Wednesday night. Thieves stole a tractor at Shyamshak, gold and silver from a jewellery shop, cash from a motorcycle agency and bottles of whisky from a wine shop, said a police source.

Public voice

Chhapra: A non-governmental organisation, Plaza Foundation, on Wednesday started Vocem-Populi (voice of the people) chapter in Sahay Bhavan. The president of the organisation, Rajiv Ranjan Sahay, said it will serve people in the field of Right to Information with transparency and legal overtones.

Accident

Patna: One person was killed when a New Delhi-Guwahati Rajdhani Express hit a Bolero car at an unmanned level crossing near Kataria halt in Barauni Katihar section of East Central railway.

Traffic

Patna: Rail traffic was disrupted for about five hours in Gaya district when five wagons of a goods train derailed near Gaya railway station yard on Thursday.
