Women dies, FIR lodged

Patna: Thirty-year-old Kavita Kumari died under mysterious circumstances at her in-laws’ place at Bank Colony under Jakkanpur police station on Friday. Kavita’s family members alleged she was murdered for dowry. avita’s brother, Rajesh Singh said: “She had deep marks on her neck suggesting she was strangled.” An FIR against Kavita’s husband Omkar Garg and her in-laws has been lodged.

Robbed

Patna: Four criminals looted Rs 3.80 lakh from two people, who were going to the bank to deposit it, at the Anandpur Bazaar-Gora Bazaar area around 3.30pm on Friday.

Fine

Patna: The state human rights commission has imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 and recommended departmental proceeding against Siddharth Mohan Jain, former assistant superintendent of police of Patna City, for violating guidelines laid down by the national human rights commission in arresting a person.

Guilty

Patna: Additional district and sessions judge VII, Vijay Kumar Jain, on Friday found four persons guilty of kidnapping Sresth Sanjay (6) from the Gandhi Maidan police station area in September 2009.

Sentence

Patna: Special CBI judge, Dhirendra Kumar Pandey, sentenced Jagannath, former senior telecom office assistant in Barauni to two years rigorous imprisonment in a case of Prevention of Corruption Act on Friday.

HC order

Patna: A high court bench of Justice Shiva Kirti Singh and Justice Ravi Ranjan asked the state government on Friday to file a reply, within two weeks, regarding the constitution of gram nyayalaya for providing accessible and cheaper justice.
