Sourav Goel’s five-for ensured Kalighat were chasing a measly total during their CAB first division two-day league match against Paikpara on Wednesday. Batting first, Paikpara could muster only 140. Surajit Das’s unbeaten 56 helped Kalighat score an eight-wicket win.

Maharashtra’s Vasanti Shinde (6th seed) beat 2nd seed Dhruti T. Venugopal of Karnataka 6-3,6-3. In the boys’ singles under-16, Vignesh Prabhu (5th seed) from Tamil Nadu defeated second seed Shashank Nautiyal of Delhi 6-3,6-3 to sail into semis.
