Cape Town: Munaf Munna Patel is among the most unassuming of cricketers, yet the 27-year-old from a village in Gujarat can make the ball do all the talking.
And, so, it was at the Wanderers.
On Saturday evening, Munaf returned MoM-award winning figures of four for 29 and helped India register a sensational one-run win over South Africa.
Bahut khushi ki baat hai... Team ko jeetana hi sabse badi cheez hoti hai... That, too, overseas, Munaf told The Telegraph, on the morning-after.
The figures also turned out to be his best in 51 ODIs.
Maloom hai... Yeh mera doosra MoM-award raha hai... The first was against England (in October 2006)... With experience Im a more confident bowler... Confidence ka khel hai, Munaf said, grinning.
Seeing the spring in his step, manager Ranjib Biswal quipped: Munnabhai, aaj chaal mein kuch alag hai... Theres a difference!
Munaf responded by requesting Biswal not to pull his leg.
