Hosts to play Andhra today

Nagaon/Guwahati, Dec. 17: Hosts Assam will lock horns with Andhra Pradesh in a four-day match of the under-19 Cooch Behar Trophy at Nurul Amin Stadium in Nagaon tomorrow.

Assam have already qualified to the Elite group with 15 points. The visitors are yet to qualify to the Elite group. The teams reached Nagaon yesterday.

“The wicket will be sporting, with a lot on offer for both the batsmen and bowlers. Match referee Sanjib Paul and umpires Virendra Sharma and A. Bansal have expressed satisfaction with the pitch. The weather forecast is ideal,” Pritam Konwar, the joint secretary of the Nowgong Sports Association, said.

The squads: Assam: Roshan Basfore (captain), Amlanjyoti Baruah, Dayal Krishna Dutta, Debojit Baruah, Deepjyoti Goswami, Jogeshwar Bhumij, Kon Orang, Manas Jyoti Gogoi, Nayush Yadav, Prasanta Bhuyan, Raju Das, Rudra Pradhan, Shashank Negi, Wasiqur Rahman (wk) and Shivam Shukla.
