Statistics seminar in varsity

Patna: Patna University would be organising the 19th International Conference on Interdisciplinary Mathematical and Statistical Techniques from December 18. The three-day event is being organised by the department of statistics in the university. hyam Lal, vice-chancellor of the Patna University on Friday said the conference is being organised with the Forum for Interdisciplinary Mathematics. Delegates from USA, Japan, Canada, would be present.

New train

Patna: Chief minister Nitish Kumar will flag off Bakhtiyarpur-Gaya (555/556) DEMU passenger train between Bakhtiyarpur and Gaya today at Bakhtiyarpur junction. Railways chief public relations officer Dilip Kumar will also announce the increase of frequency of Patna-Bangalore Sanghmitra express from six days to seven.

Firing

Patna: One person was killed and a minor girl injured when a member of a marriage party opened fire at Bishunpur village in Khagaria district late on Thursday night. The deceased has been identified as Jitenra Kumar, a teacher in a government primary school. The injured, Masum Kumari, has been referred to Patna Medical College and Hospital.

Event

Patna: The grand finale of Sur Sangram-Season 2, a reality show on Mahua TV would be held on December 19 at Gandhi Maidan. Governor Devanand Konwar would be the chief guest and the guest of honour would be deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi. The event would also be attended by actors Ravi Kissen, Manoj Tiwari, Tanushree Dutta and Sameera Reddy.
