Guwahati, Dec. 16: Priyana Kalita, Rudraxee Bharali and Sreya Dutta posted easy wins in the girls’ under-12 category, to move into the last four of the 19th Naman Sekhar Bhuyan All Assam Tennis Championship at the North East Tennis Foundation complex here on Wednesday.

In the quarter-final matches today, Priyana trounced Bhumika Gupta 4-1, 4-0, Sreya outclassed Rhea Borkotoky 4-3, 4-2 while Rudraxee drubbed Anisha Sarma 4-1, 4-0. Mon Moromi Saikia, however, had to toil hard before getting the better of Harshita Borpujari 4-3, 3-4, 4-3 and move into the semi-finals.

In the boys’ under-12, Siddharth Choudhury defeated Manjit Das 5-2, Abhigyan Kumar Gogoi pipped Rishiv Borkotoky 5-4, Abhiraj Saikia outclassed Abhishant Bhattacharjee 5-3 while Ronit Bora blanked Jubaraj Baruah 5-0 to enter the pre-quarter stage. In the boys’ under-12 second round matches, Gyanesh Lahon outclassed Anurag Bora 5-1 while Arjav Phukan trounced Arith Bhuyan 5-1.

Rohan Choudhary edged past Manas P. Kuli 5-4. The two girls’ under-14 first round matches proved to be one-sided affairs with Mon Mayuri Saikia outplaying Sreya Dutta 5-0 while Sreyoshi Dutta defeated Snehankita Borah 5-2.
