Jet fuel price rise
New Delhi, Dec. 15: State-owned oil firms have raised jet fuel prices by 3.6 per cent to Rs 46,876.58 per kilolitre, making it the fifth straight increase in rates since October when international crude oil prices started climbing. Aviation turbine fuel (ATF) rates in Delhi have been hiked by Rs 1,636.58 per kilolitre, or 3.6 per cent, from midnight tonight. In Calcutta, jet fuel prices have been hiked by Rs 1,731.84 to Rs 54,183.98 per kilolitre.
Indirect tax
New Delhi, Dec. 15: Indirect tax collection rose 42.3 per cent to Rs 2.07 lakh crore during April-November against the year-ago period. “Last year’s collections of Rs 1.45 lakh crore during the same period constituted an achievement of 54.5 per cent of the overall target fixed for indirect tax collections for 2009-10,” a statement said.
SAIL offer
Mumbai, Dec. 15: Steel Authority of India’s (SAIL) follow-on public offer (FPO) is likely to hit the market in mid-January. “Cabinet approval for the FPO has already been received and we hope that it will hit the market in mid-January,” steel ministry joint secretary Dalip Singh said.
