Flying squad in college
Patna:
The flying squad of Magadh University on Friday visited Arvind Mahila College and College of Commerce. he purpose of the visit was to assess the general functioning of these colleges. The delegation, which comprised C.P. Singh, Nandji Kumar and Nand Kumar Yadav assessed the attendance of students, infrastructure in these colleges etc. The delegation said they were satisfied with whatever they saw.
Chargesheet
Patna:
Vigilance Investigation Bureau has filed a chargesheet against Laxman Das, former inspector home guard (Mohanya) in the court of special vigilance, Patna, in connection with a bribery case on Friday.
Nomination
Patna:
Professor Surya Prakash Pati, faculty of Chandragupt Institute of Management, Patna, has been nominated for Sourya Pattnaik Award. Being among seven researchers nominated for the award, Surya will be receiving the award at the function to be held at Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi during December 12-15 this year. He is getting the award for his research on organisational psychology, at the 20th Annual Conference of National Academy of psychology, a member of the International Union of Psychological Science.
Seminar
Patna:
Magadh Mahila College on Friday organised a seminar on “Violence against Women” on the college premises. Organised by Gender Knowledge Centre (Department of Sociology) and Centre for Women Empowerment (an NGO) and sponsored by Action Aid, the seminar was attended by retired professor of Magadh University and chairman of Mahila Charkha Samiti Usha Kiran Khan. The programme executive of Patna Doordarshan Ratna Purkayastha among others, was also present at the occasion.

Spic Macay and Department of Art and Culture, Bihar government, together organised “Shukra gulzar” on Friday on Bharatiya Nritya Kala Mandir premises. Padma Vibhushan Pt. Rajan-Sajan Mishra performed here in the evening. At another event in the morning, the duo sang on Delhi Public School premises. ¦¦
