CLARIFICATION

The Career Graph cover story Shift, Control, Click (October 21) quoted Soumendra N. Bagchi, associate professor, Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI), Jamshedpur, while discussing the institute’s view on computerised entrance exams. According to Prof. Bagchi, he had no such discussion on the issue with any representative of The Telegraph. But our correspondent communicated through the official contact channel (exlink@xlri.ac.in), namely, the ‘Media Contact’ on XLRI’s website. She received answers to her questions from Raman Choudhury, senior executive member, external linkages, XLRI. Choudhury asked the correspondent to attribute the quote to Prof. Bagchi. Prof. Bagchi says ‘exlink’ is a student body and not authorised to handle any issues connected with the admission process of XLRI. He says he is probing the reason for the internal communications breakdown at the institute.
