Dhaba worker killed for not serving food
CUTTACK: A worker of a dhaba (roadside hotel) at Chandbali square at Athgarh in Cuttack was murdered for not serving food at midnight. The deceased has been identified as Tapas Kumar Dakua.
ources said three people arrived on a motorcycle at 2am and asked for food. The restaurant staff, who had already gone to sleep, woke up and said no food was available. Agitated over the refusal, they came back again in an inebriated state. One of them put a revolver on the mouth of a sleeping employee and shot him dead. Later, the three people fled from the spot. Police have detained three people in this connection.
Storm threat
Bhubaneswar: The cyclonic storm over Bay of Bengal that lay centred about 1,000 km south of Gopalpur in Orissa on Saturday intensified into a severe cyclonic storm on Sunday.

Farmer suicide
BHUBANESWAR: Another farmer’s suicide case was reported on Sunday in Sambalpur district.

arik’s father alleged that his son had taken a loan of Rs 12,500 to take up farming activities.

Bhubaneswar: Three mining owners —Bhaba Mishra, Dinesh Agarwal and Muna Behera — from Barabil area in Keonjhar district were arrested for their alleged involvement in the smuggling of the mineral incurring a heavy loss to the state exchequer.
