Senior citizens want DC to stay

Kokrajhar: The Senior Citizens’ Forum of Udalguri and Greater Udalguri Development Committee demanded stay of the transfer orders of outgoing deputy commissioner of Udalguri district, S.S. Meenaxi Sundaram. In a news meet on Saturday evening, the two social organisations expressed shock at the sudden transfer of Sundaram by the state government and demanded that he stayed for at least one more year in the greater interest of Udalguri.

Python found

Kokrajhar: A 6-feet long sub-adult python, weighing 25kg, was found and rescued by villagers from a paddy field at Tinali Bhutiyapara in Kokrajhar on Sunday. forest in Kamrup district.

Bus accident

Dhubri: Bipul Das, 55, died on the spot while 32 others were injured when a bus overturned on National Highway 31 at Pathasalkuchi in Barpeta on Sunday.

Man rescued

Dhubri: Sambhu Charan Misra, an employee of P.K. and Company, was rescued from abductors by the police of Dudhnoi and Krishnai from Goalpara on Saturday night. He was abducted by suspected Rabha Viper Army members.
