Anand: Taking charge

New Delhi, Oct. 25 (PTI): PepsiCo has appointed Manu Anand as its India head following the promotion of incumbent chairman and CEO Sanjeev Chadha as chief of the global beverage and snacks giants West Asia and Africa operations from January 1.
The company also appointed Varun Berry as the chief executive officer of PepsiCos foods business in India.
PepsiCo today announced that Sanjeev Chadha, chairman and CEO of PepsiCos India Region, will take over as PepsiCos chief for West Asia & Africa, with effect from January 1, PepsiCo India said. He will also be a member of the firms global leadership team, PepsiCo executive committee.
Sanjeev Chadhas new area of responsibility — West Asia and Africa — is one of the largest and most profitable regions of PepsiCo and is based in Dubai, PepsiCo said. Chadha was a founding member of the PepsiCo business in India 20 years ago and has since played an important role in strengthening the companys footprint in several countries.
Anand will move to India from Thailand where he was PepsiCos CEO for Southeast Asia and responsible for the food and beverages business in Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and the Pacific Islands.
Manu Anand has driven significant growth of our foods businesses across Southeast Asia, including the rapid expansion of snacks in Thailand, PepsiCo said.
