Youths held for bike theft

Patna: Two youths were arrested for stealing motorbikes on Tuesday. One of them, identified as Deepak, is the son of the principal of Dayanand Middle School in Mithapur. he other has been identified as Bhola, who works in a garage. An officer at Kankerbagh police station said the two were involved in stealing bikes, remodelling them and selling them in rural areas.

Clash

Patna: A man died and another was injured in a clash at Chailital under Alamganj police station in Patna City on Tuesday evening. An officer at Alamganj police station said the two men clashed over some personal feud. One died on the spot and the other was injured in the leg.

Appeal

Patna: Vanchitsamaj Insaf Party national president A.A. Sheikh appealed on Tuesday that people should beware of false promises made by political parties before the elections. Sheikh said Muslims should unite in their own interest and should not become a vote bank in to the hands of parties.

Chief joins

Darbhanga: RJD member Ranjan Kumari was unanimously elected the new chairman for the Darbhanga district board on Tuesday. Of 47 members in the district board, only 32 members took part in the election for the seat that was reserved for the OBC category. District magistrate Santosh Kumar Mall supervised the election and completed the oath formalities. adan Sahani has been the former chairman of the district board. On September 28 he had to resign from his post as he lost the majority. Sahani was elected the chairman of the district board as a member of RJD. However, the RJD moved a no confidence motion against him when he joined JD (U) last month for contesting the Assembly election. Sahani later got the JD (U) ticket from Bahadurpur constituency.
