RBI meet on bank licence
New Delhi, Oct. 6: The RBI will meet industry associations, including the Indian Banks Association (IBA) and the CII, tomorrow to discuss the modalities to grant new banking licences to business houses and non-banking finance firms, IBA chief executive K. Ramakrishnan said. Select bankers, led by Bank of Baroda chairman M.D. Mallya, will attend the meet.
SEZ meeting
New Delhi, Oct. 6: An inter-ministerial board on SEZs will meet on October 21 sans any fresh proposal from developers to set up the export-oriented zones. Instead, three developers have knocked the doors of the commerce ministry to surrender their projects.
IMF forecast

Strides stake
New Delhi, Oct. 6: Strides Arcolab said global financial firms HSBC had picked up a 6.22 per cent stake in the company through institutional placement of shares, possibly for Rs 155 crore.
SpiceJet
New Delhi, Oct. 6: Kalanithi Maran and his KAL Airways have bought 5 per cent equity in SpiceJet for Rs 91.52 crore as part of the deal signed in June to acquire a 37.7 per cent stake in the company.
