New Delhi, Oct. 4: BlackBerry makers have suggested the formation of a joint consultative forum comprising the government, users and service providers to draw up procedures for intercepting services such as enterprise mail as banning the service will be “counterproductive”. In a letter to cabinet secretary K.M. Chandrasekhar, Canada-based Research In Motion (RIM) — makers of BlackBerry — virtually refused to provide an intercepting technology for its BlackBerry Enterprise Server.
Sanofi offer
New York, Oct. 4: Drug maker Sanofi-aventis has made a $18.5-billion hostile takeover offer for Genzyme Corp, attributing the move to the American entity’s refusal to engage in “constructive discussions”. The French firm had gone public with its offer to buy Genzyme in August.

Melbourne, Oct. 4: The Adani group is looking to put in an Aus $2-billion bid for the Port of Brisbane that is being privatised by the Queensland government, The Australian said in a report.
