10 NDFB rebels apprehended
Guwahati: Nine NDFB rebels were apprehended from different parts of the state in the past 24 hours. Nine pistols, three grenades, four detonators and over 100 rounds of ammunition were recovered. Police said the militants were returning from Dimapur in separate groups with the arms on their way to Bongaigaon. The first group of five militants, Amrit Basumatary, Rupan Basumatary, Sivila Basumatary, Hangma Basumatary and Meena Jomo was apprehended at Guwahati railway station on Saturday. The second group was apprehended from Jakhalabandha of Nagaon on Sunday. The police on Sunday arrested NDFB cadre Mukunda Sargayari from Sarthebari in Barpeta district.
Orang raid
Guwahati: Orang National Park rangers fired at a group of men caught fishing inside the park’s core area on Saturday. The men escaped but the rangers seized the boat and nets.

Militants lynched
Shillong: East Garo Hills police identified three militants of the Liberation of A’chik Elite Force (LAEF) who were lynched on Saturday after a scuffle with villagers at Menadoba market, as Arup Marak of Adokgre, Lucas Marak of Resu Daram and Gneng Marak of Darang Boldak.
