Rahul visit

Guwahati, Sept. 18: Congress party general secretary Rahul Gandhi will visit Silchar on Thursday for a roadshow and will address a rally before flying out to Dibrugarh during his two-day visit to the state.

Blockade

Imphal: The United Naga Council has suspended its economic blockade along national highways in Manipur with immediate effect. It cited “commencement of a serious process” by the Centre for an alternative arrangement for the Nagas in Manipur as the reason for suspending the blockade.

Grenade found

Guwahati: GRP personnel on Saturday recovered an abandoned grenade from near the track at Guwahati Railway Station.

AGP yatra

Dibrugarh: The Assam government on Saturday criticised the AGP for its allegations on the state of affairs of the state during the Jana Sanjog Yatra which the party took out from September 6 to 16.
