Railway gang nabbed
Patna
: Government Railway Police (GRP) arrested four persons for stealing luggage and picking pockets at Patna railway station on Thursday. The four were identified as Tilaiya Mahto (30), Ramu Mahto (35), Wassim Khan (30) and Kunal Kumar (30). RP inspector Ramakant Prasad said: “We have also recovered looted valuables from their possession. They have been remanded in judicial custody.”
Workshop
Patna
: German Language Centre (GLC), Patna, in association with Max Mueller Bhavan, organised a workshop in German language. Puneet Kaur and Manveen Anand, two resource persons from Max Mueller Bhavan, New Delhi, shared their teaching experiences with the teachers of the Patna centre as well as other schools of the city.
Funds release
Patna
: The state human resource development department has released Rs 572 crore for payment of salaries and pension to teachers and non-teaching staff of 11 universities in Bihar for June, July and August. Magadh University has been granted Rs 131 crore followed by Rs 81 crore for Bihar University, Muzaffarpur, and Rs 85 crore for Tilka Manjhi University, Bhagalpur. LN Mithila University, Darbhanga received Rs 84 crore. Patna University’s share is Rs 43 crore, JP University, Chhapra is Rs 33 crore, BN Mandal University, received Rs 48 crore.
Convocation
Patna
: Admerit, a learning centre of Sikkim Manipal University, took part in the annual convocation ceremony conducted by Admerit along with Sikkim Manipal University. All successful students were awarded degrees. Students who enrolled themselves in the current session also attended function. Admerit director Anupam Singh said in a bid to make students ready for jobs they had introduced special personality development and employability enhancement programme, SkillBridge.
