Guwahati, Sept. 2: Five lawn bowlers from Assam have been named in the 10-member Indian squad for the XIX Commonwealth Games, Delhi, starting on October 3.

Those in the squad, named last night, include Tania Choudhury, Manu Kumari Paul and Nayanmoni Saikia, Mohd Raja and Ruptu Gogoi.

“This is really an achievement for our players who took up the sport only three years back,” said Assam Lawn Bowling Association president Durgadas Boro here today.
