New Delhi: For Jhulan Goswami, the Arjuna Award is something unique.

“This award will help me become a more matured person,” said the woman cricketer minutes after she was conferred with the Arjuna by President Pratibha Patil on Sunday.

“My responsibilities have increased now. As a senior cricketer, I should be able to contribute more to the game. It’s a big day for me,” said the India bcaptain.

Jhulan said she enjoyed her journey as a cricketer.

Deepak Mondal said the Indian football was moving in the right direction. “Under Bob Houghton, the national team is doing extremely well. I am sure many more footballers will win Arjuna from the next year.”
