New train timings
Four trains have been rescheduled due to a bandh called by PCPA in three districts of Bengal to protest against the killing of their leader Umakant Mahato. n Monday, Hatia-Patna Express, which departs at 6.30pm daily, will leave at 3.20am. Hatia-Howrah Express, which departs at 10pm, will start at 3am. Ranchi-Patna Express will leave at 3.45am instead of the scheduled 10.20pm. Hatia-Kamakhya Express train, which starts at 8.40pm, will leave at 3.45am.
Elections
Surendra Kumar Singh has been elected as the Ranchi town president and Sawna Lakra elected as Ranchi rural president, as Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee president Pradeep Kumar Balmuchu released a list of office bearers of its recently conducted organisational polls for all the districts of the state.
Demand
Jharkhand Statistical Society on Sunday demanded introduction of statistics courses at all the universities and deemed universities of the state with effect from the current academic year. Praveen Kumar Gupt, secretary of the society, said that a letter to this effect has been written by them to the Union statistical organisation and programe implementation ministry.
