Churni, Mir in Michael

First-time director Ribhu Dasgupta has picked a few Tolly actors for the second schedule of Michael. The list includes Churni Ganguly (who will play Naseeruddin Shah’s wife Ria), Mir and Padmanava Dasgupta.

“While I was brainstorming about who to cast as Michael’s wife, my father (Raja Dasgupta) suggested that I consider Churni. She fits the bill. Naseerbhai plays a Catholic and I feel Churni suits the character. She appears in flashbacks,” said Ribhu.

Churni, who will shoot with Naseer from September 10, said: “Naseeruddin Shah is an actor par excellence and being able to work in a project with him will be like a treat of a lifetime. The news is yet to sink in! I am surely going to be nervous,” Churni chirped.

Mir plays a doctor in the hospital where Mahie is a nurse. “Mir has his eyes on Mahie. He is a dushtu doctor trying to woo a good-looking girl! Padmanava is a funny man who doesn’t miss a chance to glorify himself,” added Ribhu.
