Arms dealers

Kokrajhar, Aug. 9: Dominique Hasda and Koko Roy, suspected to be arms dealers, were apprehended by security forces from the Sesapani area in Baksa district yesterday.

Body found

Dibrugarh: Police on Monday fished out the body of a four-year-old from Maijan tea estate in Dibrugarh district. The body, which is still unidentified, had been sent for post-mortem at the Assam Medical College and Hospital here.

Ulfa linkmen

Tinsukia: Two ulfa linkmen, Bikash Baruah and Heramba Baruah, were arrested by police from Hapjan in Tinsukia district for allegedly demanding money from a businessman.

Rebel held

Kokrajhar: An NDFB cadre, Mintu Daimary, 26, was apprehended by security forces from near Dangtol railway station in Chirang district when he was on his way to collect extortion money from a trader.

Road mishap

Dhubri: Eight passengers travelling in a Maruti van were injured when it overturned after hitting a rickshaw at Agomoni in the district on Sunday.
