Forum Courtyard, let’s call it the fancy Forum with a floral symbol, has now opened its doors to a city still starved of international fashion labels. Joined at the hip to its elder brother Forum, together the two will offer a retail romp that Calcutta is so ready for.

The project, according to its promoter and owner Rahul Saraf, did take longer than he would have liked but he has reasons. “First, it was so close to a functioning Forum, so we couldn’t hurry it up. Second, since it was an engineering challenge, the foundation stage was slow and then of course there was the economic slowdown.”

Good thing is that the Forum Courtyard is now ready. And welcoming you just as you enter the three-level mall is none other than the iconic, super-stylish Spanish brand Mango. Here’s what else to expect…

Inglot, the Canadian make-up company, is a visual treat, no less than a candy store for some of us!

Fabulous finds at Mango will be the biggest draw in the mall. The store is looking stunning, full of fall-winter fashions (there is a first here in Calcutta since the rest of the country stores are still in summer sale mode). Knits, paisleys, silk jerseys, jackets, denims.... Rusts, navy and nudes rule the colour story. Beautiful boots and bags and more accessories, the basics are priced Rs 390-up. Another draw at Forum Courtyard will be Trezo, a space that offers rack on rent. “This is our endeavour to promote young labels who can’t afford full rentals or don’t have the retail infrastructure. It will be the Indian soul of the mall,” says Rahul.

The shoe story of the city will not be the same. Canadian brand Aldo and Singapore-based Charles & Keith are all geared up to offer you the latest in high-street styles. Strappy gladiators, chunky platforms or cute studded chappals, there is everything a girl would want. Their accessories like wallets, fun jewellery and bags are equal winners.
