Calcutta: In December 2008, legendary Diego Maradona had set foot in Calcutta. Come July 30th, another Diego is set to arrive on a whirlwind promotional tour.
If everything follows the script, then the Golden Ball winner of the 2010 World Cup, Uruguayan Diego Forlan, will be in town to enthral his millions of fans.
The Latin Americans had a dream run in the South Africa going till the semi-finals and Forlan was a revelation.
Incidentally, Forlan will be part of the same football reality show, where Brazilian World Cup winners Romario and Branco were also seen.
While Romario will not be there, Branco will be in the city when Forlan comes calling.
Forlan will be arriving on the 30th of this month and is likely to leave on August 1, Bhaswar Goswami, executive director of Celebrity Management Group, which is promoting the event, said.
However, a channel spokesman, where the reality show is being aired, refused to confirm anything about Forlans visit.
In the last three years, a host of footballers have come to Calcutta.
They include Lothar Matthaus, Karl Heinz Rumminege, Oliver Kahn, Gerd Mueller, Mark van Bommel, Ze Roberto.
