Hacked to death

Tinsukia, July 20: Police recovered the bodies of Naju Yadav, 33, and Barma Yadav, 55, from the No.5 division of the Keyhung tea estate under Bordubi police station in Tinsukia district this morning. Both of them were hacked to death. No arrests have been made yet.

Ziro bandh

Itanagar: The Ziro Contractors’ Association has called a 12-hour Ziro Hapoli bandh on July 27 in protest against alleged non payment of bills by the PWD.

Dhubri: Brahmaputra Khahaniyar Sthayee Protirodh Gana Sangram Samiti, has warned that the erosion-affected people would boycott the Assembly elections if the government did not take action to protect the area.
