Ranchi, July 9: In a major administrative reshuffle, the Raj Bhavan today changed deputy commissioners of 12 out of 24 districts in the state.
Reportedly, these transfers were approved two days ago, but notified today after election commissionís clearance.
In an interchange of posts, Dhanbad deputy commissioner Ajay Kumar Singh will be new MNREGA commissioner at Ranchi, while existing MNREGA commissioner S.K. Barnwal will replace Singh in Dhanbad, with additional charges of project director, Jharia rehabilitation development authority settlement.
The project director of Jharkhand education project council, Nitin Madan Kulkarni will be the new deputy commissioner of Bokaro district. Existing deputy commissioner Satyendra Singh has been transferred to Ranchi as stateís transport commissioner.
Praveen Shanker, promotee IAS, will be the new deputy commissioner of Garhwa district. The present deputy commissioner K.K. Soan has been transferred as inspector general, prisons.
Another promotee IAS Ashok Kumar Mishra has been made the deputy commissioner of Saraikela - Kharsawan district. Present deputy commissioner Gauri Shankar Prasad will act as joint secretary, planning and development department in Ranchi, with additional charge as director, state institute for rural development.
East Singhbhum deputy commissioner Ravindra Kumar Agrawal has been made the additional secretary of urban development department in Ranchi. Lohardaga deputy commissioner Himani Pandey will replace Agrawal in Jamshedpur. She will also hold the additional charge of director, Adityapur Industrial Area Development Authority.
Khunti deputy commissioner Puja Singhal Purwar has been transferred to Palamau in the same capacity. She will also take on the additional charge of settlement officer in Palamau district. Co-operative Societies registrar Rajesh Kumar Sharma will replace Purwar in Khunti.
Palamau deputy commissioner Amitabh Kaushal will come to Ranchi as project director, Jharkhand education project council. Ramgarh deputy commissioner Praveen Kumar Toppo is the new tribal welfare commissioner in Ranchi. Pakur deputy commissioner Manish Ranjan, who is now away on a training stint, is the director of industry department.
Newly promoted IAS member Sunil Kumar Singh is deputy commissioner of Pakur district. Another promotee IAS Ganesh Prasad will replace Toppo in Ramgarh. Other promotee IAS members Ratan Kumar and Shiv Shankar Tiwari have been notified as deputy commissioners of Lohardaga and Koderma.
