No hike in fares
Dibrugarh, July 2:
The Dibrugarh Three Wheeler’s Auto Union, during an executive committee meeting held this afternoon at its office, decided that there would not be any hike in fares.
Cremated
Silchar:
CRPF jawan Ibongmacha Singh, 24, who was slain in an ambush by Maoists in Chhatisgarah on Tuesday along with the 26 others, was cremated at his home in Jibangram village in Cachar district on Friday.
Drowned
Dhubri:
Abu Kasher Md Zakaria, 20, of ward 4 near Boro Masjid in Dhubri town, drowned in the Brahmaputra on Friday.
CBI custody
Dhubri:
Dhubri police will hand over Amjad Hussain, junior engineer, to the CBI on July 9. Hussain was arrested in Guwahati on June 15 and brought to Dhubri in connection with three fund embezzlement cases.
