Guess who made Debasree dance?: Debasree Roy broke into dance as Emotional atyachar singer Bonnie Chakraborty (picture left) belted out the Ochena raat number composed by Debojyoti Mishra for Gaurav Pandey’s Shukno Lanka. Cast members Arindam Sil, Angona Basu and Nondinii, and singer Rupam were present at the music launch in I-Lounge in Hiland Park Mall. Bonnie, based in Mumbai, has sung two tracks for Shukno Lanka. “I was associated with Mohiner Ghoraguli before moving to Chennai to work with A.R. Rahman in music arrangement. But I am always excited to playback for Bengali films. I have sung for Aparna Sen’s Iti Mrinalini,” said Bonnie, who has also sung for Udaan, the Vikramaditya Motwane film that made waves in Cannes and is set for a mid-July release, and Pradeep Sarkar’s Lafangey Parindey.

Tulsi’s Turnaround: The feisty Gujarati bahu of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi has turned into a docile Bangali bou in her Tolly debut Amrita, directed by Tapan Saha. “She is such a hassle-free actress and she speaks impeccable Bengali!” said Saha in between the shots at an EM Bypass house on Tuesday. “Smriti plays Amrita, Victor Banerjee’s wife. She’s a sweet homemaker in the beginning but circumstances force her to take charge of her life,” he added.
