1 dies in accident

Dhubri, June 11: Alom Sheikh of Simlabari village died on the spot when the tempo he was traveling in fell into a ditch on Gaibadha-Tikrikila Road at Chataimari in Goalpara district last night.

Women held

Dhubri: Two women, Jabila Marak and Shila Sangma of Garo Hills, were picked up by the 3 Sikh Regiment in Dhubri district and being interrogated for their role in an explosives haul from Sanjib Marak and Trilok Marak on June 1.

Ulfa linkman

Dhubri: An Ulfa linkman, Firoz Rahman of Bhatipara in Goalpara town, was apprehended by the 9 Jammu & Kashmir Light Infantry Regiment from Paikan in Goalpara district on Thursday.

Agartala (PTI): Former MLA and veteran leader Shyama Charan Tripura, 71, died at Agartala Medical College here on Friday.
