Spectators at the finals on Saturday

A carnival-like atmosphere marked the McDowell’s No. 1 Celebration Sports Gear presents the Final Nite of The Telegraph Cup Football 2010 for Corporates at CC&FC on Saturday evening. After three weeks of jostling it out on the field, it was now time for more bright lights, cheerful faces, adda sessions and energetic excitement and even a few inflated ZooZoo headbands!

Football legends Subhash Bhowmick, Jamshed Nasiri and Shyam Thapa get clicked with Kaushik Chatterjee (third from left) of USL. “Jeeyo dil se… youth and exuberance coupled with ‘josh’ was the spirit of the three-week long corporate soccer, as the executives smelt grass and kicked leather in every celebration. Congrats to the No. 1 team,” exulted Kaushik Chatterjee, EVP & COO, USL, RPC-East. Nasiri (second from left) of Selvel Blue won the Gibran Tayabi Memorial Trophy for being the Most Sporting Player

“Outdoor evening activities hardly happen in Calcutta. So, this is a great outing. Plus you get to see top quality non-professional football at this tournament,” smiled Vivek Modi, out with Yashvir, his two-and-half-year-old son to catch the finals on the club grounds. For 18-year-old Archita it was an evening of familiar fun. “The match between the maalis and the bearers was nice,” she smiled. Some moments from the final night...
